In winter storms the sea can crash over these walls. So the luminaires had to be able to resist drenching with salt water. In order to avoid any surface mounted cables or drilling holes into this Ancient Monument, the arches were each lit with one vandal resistant luminaire which projected a circle of bright light onto the stone floor. The light reflects up and lights the whole arch with a wonderful soft stone coloured light.
