Ha’il Pavilion, Al Janadriyah, Saudi Arabia, is a modern reconstruction of a traditional town of the Ha’il region, built for the annual, two-week Al Janadriyah festival outside Riyadh. The Ha’il Pavilion contains many spaces lit by reflected light, to create a magical glow. The fittings are recessed into the ground so that they are unseen during the day, while at night the walls of the buildings give off a honey-coloured glow. Inside the building Sutton Vane Associates lit displays of clothing and pictures.

Sutton Vane Associates worked with Tarik Ali Alireza Consulting Engineers, of Jeddah to create an environment that while being lit also had the atmosphere of a traditional, historic village.
