Blackpool is famous for its illuminations so it is no surprise that light should have been used to add a new night-time attraction at Blackpool Zoo, called Dinosaur Safari. Sutton Vane Associates brought the zoo’s prehistoric creatures ‘to life’ with colour changing and scene setting in vivid hues designed to create a night-time draw – especially for children – adding to the drama and excitement of the dinosaur displays and the surrounding landscape. In anticipation of the extra business to be generated in the evenings, the zoo also commissioned Sutton Vane Associates to light its retail areas, shop and café.
