Destination Station talk at Museums and Heritage Show

Mark Sutton Vane will be presenting on the subject of lighting with shadows at the Museums and Heritage Show on 18 May at Olympia, London.

Mark will be presenting alongside Ellen Tait of the National Railway Museum at York.  The focus of the presentation will be the hugely successful temporary exhibition Destination Station that was staged at the museum earlier this year.

The focus of the exhibition was the design of iconic railway stations.  Mark chose to light the space with a design that echoed the spectacular grandeur of the glass roofs of the station buildings using shadows projected across the exhibition ceiling.

Richly illustrated with photographs and demonstrations of the shadow technique – known as shadowgraph – the talk will cover not only the design of the exhibition but also the impact of the lighting on the visitor experience.

Attendance at the talk is free to visitors to the Museums and Heritage Exhibition – more details can be found here More information on the lighting design for Destination Station can be seen here
