Professional Lighting Summit

The Professional Lighting Summit 2017 is taking place on 14 and 15 June in Glasgow and we are delighted that Mark has been invited to speak at the event.

Organised by the Institute of Lighting Professionals (ILP), this is an annual event for professional in the lighting industry where ideas are shared and networks are build.

The Lighting is for People

Mark's keynote speech will explore the idea that lighting schemes are designed for people. Lighting can do so much more than illumination. Lighting can add to branding, it can create an atmosphere or reinforce a story.

If you are attending the Summit, don't miss out on Mark's talk on Wednesday 14 June at 10:40 in the main conference room of the Glasgow Crowne Plaza.

Technology for good at RSA Engage

Mark was invited to speak at the RSA Engage event 'Technology for Good' in London to spark new conversations and discover ideas that are using technology as a powerful source for social change.

The Economy, Enterprise and Manufacturing Team at the RSA is exploring how technology is changing the way we live, work, and do business. Rather than being passively shaped by technology, the RSA believes that people can exercise power over tech to better serve us and society.

Mark's pitch 'Out of the dark', described how lighting has the ability to improve lives. Well lit spaces enable communities to feel safer, bring economic advancement, and give pride to the people living in the spaces.

Light should not just be for the privileged few in wealthy areas; all communities should have access to good and beautiful lighting.

Porchester Crematorium

Sutton Vane Associates developed completely bespoke pendants to meet the brief for this Crematorium in Porchester. What appear as clean and simple pendants, in fact have specific lighting elements for up lighting, side lighting, and down lighting the space around them.

The LED strip around the perimeter wall is installed in another Sutton Vane designed bespoke solution. The up light and down light components can be dimmed independently to completely change the feel of the room.

William Heath Robinson Lighting

Sutton Vane lighting for the Heath Robinson Museum

“The Trust is hugely impressed with the quality, styling and impact of the lighting from Sutton Vane for the new Heath Robinson Museum. The lighting captures perfectly the approach we had been looking for in a modern museum celebrating the quirky genius of William Heath Robinson’s work. Visitor and media feedback has also reinforced this view. We are also very pleased with the expertise, support and service provided by the Sutton Vane team and would not hesitate to recommend them.”
