Sutton Vane Associates lit Lockey’s Sir Thomas More and his Family at the National Trust property Nostell Priory. The lighting brings the painting to life and is a seamless overall wash of light to ensure that the important painting stands out. Even though the painting has a glossy surface, there are no reflections from the new lighting.
The installation is so discrete that the Lady of the House was not able to work out where the light was projected from. The luminaires are secretly housed within the base of the balustrade.
The lighting in the room was modified and small fittings were placed in adjacent spaces to give an even finish.
